In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an advanced infertility treatment where eggs and sperm are combined in a specialized laboratory to enhance fertilization. The resulting embryos are carefully monitored, graded, and transferred to the uterus at the appropriate stage, with all procedures performed in our state-of-the-art facilities.

There are six steps in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVFDetails

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a procedure in the treatment of infertility in which mature eggs are collected from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a technology that introduces the female egg (oocyte) and male sperm together in a specialized culture medium where the chances of successful fertilization are greatly enhanced. The embryos are observed and grown in our IVF laboratory, where they are graded for quality and reintroduced to the recipient’s uterus at a multi-cell embryo stage or later at the blastocyst embryo stage. All procedures required during an IVF cycle, including ovarian stimulation and monitoring, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer, are performed on-site in our state-of-the-art facilities.

Stimulation

Fertility drugs are given to women to boost egg production. In this step, the women will have regular transvaginal ultrasounds to examine the ovaries and blood tests will be taken to check the hormone levels.

Egg Retrieval

Minor surgery is done to pick up the eggs from the woman's body.

Insemination and Fertilization

The man's sperm is placed with the best quality eggs and it is called insemination.
The eggs and sperms are stored in a highly protected, environmentally safe, temperature monitored chamber. The sperm enters (fertilizes) into the egg after a few hours of insemination.
The results will be reviewed during the next appointment time.

Embryo Culture

When the fertilized egg divides, it becomes an embryo. Lab staff will monitor the growth of the embryo carefully. Embryoscope is used in this stage. (Refer Embryoscope under a separate title).

Embryo Transfer

Embryo transfer is done after a month from egg retrieval. The chosen embryo is inserted into a softer tube which is passed through the cervix into the uterus and gently released.
