It involves scanning the ovaries regularly during the menstrual cycle and observing the follicles as they increase in size. It examines the ovarian follicles using a transvaginal scan.
The issues regarding the eggs and the thickness of the endometrial lining are studied to determine the period that the patients are likely to ovulate.
When the eggs are matured, patients are advised to have a planned relationship or intrauterine insemination or to proceed with the egg collection in case of an IVF treatment.
Generally, these scans will start around day 2 of the cycle and continue till day 20. It is a vital process for infertility treatment.
